The Best Kept Secret…Calasanz Pau Fa Yoga™
A group of students assemble in the upper level of Calasanz dojo to participate in one of the school’s best kept secrets, Calasanz Pau Fa Yoga™. As they warm up and settle into Celestial Stretch, or movement meditation, they find themselves appreciating the subtle effects of this workout as well as its amazing results. Many of them swear it’s one of the best physical fitness programs they’ve tried in a long time.
Uniting Physical Fitness and Mental Relaxation
The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root word yuj that means union, or balance. With this concept in mind, Calasanz main objective in creating Pau Fa Yoga™ was to unite the principles of martial arts and yogic meditation to create a dynamic physical conditioning program for men or women that has long been a favorite of both private and group fitness clientele.
Calasanz Pau Fa Yoga™ combines physical fitness exercises and practical martial arts applications, known as bunkai, with the style, grace, and fluidity of yogic stretching techniques and the serenity of meditation.
Calasanz Pau Fa Yoga™ offers:
Self-Defense- Practice a series of movements fighting an imaginary opponent using the martial art techniques you’ve learned and delve into their practical self-defense application.
Meditative Movement- Cultivate the principles of yogic meditation and concentration by emptying your mind and confronting your imaginary opponent with slow, deliberate, and invigorating movements.
Training Variety- You will be constantly challenged with new, and exciting movements selected from the katas of karate, kung fu, wing chun and Chinese boxing, as well as the Calasanz System™.
Core Training- You will strengthen the stomach, lower back, pelvis and hips, and muscles that surround your spine.
The end result of Calasanz Pau Fa Yoga™ is a balance; a physical fitness program, a mental release, and an understanding and working knowledge of the practical application of self-defense techniques.
You can also supplement your training with our Calasanz Pau Fa Yoga™ video practice series, great for travel or home training.
Children Fitness

Calasanz Physical Arts and Conditioning – A program with results
For Everyone - Calasanz Physical Arts is great exercise for men, women, and children’s fitness. People of all ages, sizes, and abilities can perform these exercises with success.
Overall Body Workout - The exercises are performed with light ankle weights and dumbbells and done on the floor, ballet bar, special platform, or bench. This is holistic fitness training, so in the same exercise you are training strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, coordination, and muscle unity. Regular practice increases your strength, lengthens and elongates your body, relieves stress and increases your over all well being.
Self-Defense - Many of the exercises are functional, so you are actually learning specific martial arts techniques that are useful for self-defense. And yes, as in many martial arts teachings, there are hidden secrets within the exercises for you to discover.
Fat Burning - The aerobic and anaerobic nature of these exercises helps men to burn fat, promotes weight loss and tones the entire body. Calasanz also incorporates core training into this program.
Women’s fitness programs have undergone a few changes over the years. For example, in the 80s, women were working hard to have perfectly sculpted bodies. A decade later and the goal of fitness programs had changed to have more of a focus on women being strong and healthy.
Calasanz has used his impressive experience to cultivate a unique program that allows women to have the best of both worlds. Following his program will give you the body you have always dreamed of whilst building a strong and healthy physique that is both beautiful and practical.
Not surprisingly this program was often overlooked by men as it was considered to be specifically for Calasanz’s female students. This was until the men started to see the impressive results that the fitness program was achieving. One student in particular was shocked when a female student kicked him so hard he needed considerable time to recuperate, Since then, more and more men have decided to take advantage of this program.Calasanz has made some alterations to the program for the men in his class. These modifications to the training make some of the movements more masculine and ultimately make the men more comfortable.
A Program with Results
Calasanz Physical Arts has been an essential part of Calasanz’s very effective physical conditioning program for a number of years.
This program is for everyone and offers the student a full body workout. There are many real world self-defense applications to what is taught in the class. But, as it is a fitness class, a main component to the exercises is that you will burn off fat during the class and acquire increased muscle tone and strength.
Law Enforcement
Unfortunately, you can't turn on the news today without hearing about some type of crisis that requires the immediate attention of law enforcement. Brave officers routinely run into dangerous situations while everyone else is moving in the opposite direction.
Police officers, state troopers, special agents, security guards, professional bodyguards and military personnel are among our most loyal students and supporters. In addition to training officers who are currently employed in law enforcement, we also prepare candidates for the physical ability assessment test.
Calasanz Martial Arts & Boxing Center has earned the respect of law enforcement over the last 40 years because we understand the challenges they face and carefully tailor our programs to meet their needs.
Two police officers were among the first of Calasanz’s students to complete the entire Wing Chun system! This modern kung fu style is particularly useful to law enforcement because it can be learned within a short period of time and is very effective in subduing an attacker quickly and efficiently.
CALASANZ STREET SURVIVOR™ is also a very popular program with law enforcement because it is both practical and useful.

Group Classes
Calasanz Martial Arts & Boxing Center has become famous for its bespoke private martial arts training. However, Calasanz is now able to offer a greater number of group classes, and we really enjoy the joint sense of achievement that each class feels upon completion.
We recommend the group classes to students who have been taking private classes for a while and feel that they want to change up their routine and explore a new avenue of their advancement. There are many benefits to group classes. Through participating you can:
• Enhance and improve your martial arts abilities by exposing yourself to a variety of different body types and levels of ability.
• Find new ways to motivate yourself by constantly challenging yourself to keep pace with the other members in the class.
• Make it into a group event! Join the class as a family or friend group and spend time with your loved ones while improving your overall health.
• Meet new people. Using the group sessions as a way to meet like-minded people and form great long-lasting friendships is a fantastic use of your time.
• Find a training partner. Calasanz recommends that you find someone to train with. Not only is this great motivation, but it allows you to offer your experience and knowledge to another person.
